         Both.
         People HATE to be corrected.  Furthermore, it seems that the 
more they
NEED to be corrected, the more they resent it.
         Therefore, when you innocently -- or not, makes no 
difference -- try to
say, "No, that's wrong", you are perceived as an evil aggressor.
         I'm co-moderator on an email list with over 8,000 
members.  It seems at
times that at least 6,000 of them are markedly below median!
