I would just like to make a quick note about this topic and a quick plug: Every University the Chatelaine's office offers a track of classes. These are not only for newcomers. They can be interesting for people new to Atlantia and for Atlantians looking for more information on topics they just dont know alot about. Many of these questions are often discussed in these classes. I encourage people to a)Check the University catalog and see what is being offered at each University and b) Contact the Kingdom Chatelaine and offer to teach a class in this track. I think that you will be pleasantly surprised at the breadth of classes now being offered and I think that in teaching a class, you often learn things you never knew. So I am confident that people will gain new ideas and learn new things through attending or teaching. (On that note, just offer to teach-it does not have to be through the chatelaines track. University is a great event that is dependent on people teaching and
attending. The staff is always wonderful and the classes are fascinating! I never leave disappointed.)
On the current class catalog for the next University are two classes which cover some of the things that people have been talking about on this thread. Master Peter Hawkins is teaching an Intro to the SCA, which will answer your questions about the SCA. I am teaching a class entitled Event Etiquette, or Why is that Person Twitching. In that class we will cover basic event courtesy, explain why we do some of the things we do traditionally, and of course, answer questions. While our teachers might say things you do not totally agree with, it is always interesting to hear another viewpoint of the SCA. So please come out and learn with us.
Thank you!
