And realize that often one of the fun parts of a 'custom', is that it 
DOES in fact change over time ... if one didn't want it to change, then 
it would be a rule instead.

It's kinda like playing Gossip in elementary school.  What comes out the 
other end of the people-chain is different.

As different people get taught slightly different variations on a 
custom, then they teach other people, things migrate a little.
