[MR] Fw: protocal things

At one point in Meridies more than two decades ago, they actually wrote into
law that you had to do a full obeisance unless you provided a "doctor's
note" (yes, written). This was pointed out to the Laurel sovereign of arms
of the day (NOT me) and that was killed REALLY fast. . . (I was present on
that occasion and I know there is at least one present and one former
Atlantian who was as well!!!)

Frankly, anyone who does not feel comfortable with a particular form of
obeisance whether for physical or religious or any other reason should not
hesitate at all to omit it. And, if the royalty or one of their
representatives attempted to force the point, I would not only think the
individual was more than entitled to refuse but also should be entertaining
thoughts of courts of courtesy if not courts of chivalry. . .

Alisoun, who has never confused etiquette and courtesy

I am aware of at least one case (in another kingdom) where the
Crown insisted that the person kneel, so they did. It took
several people to assist that person back to her feet. Embarrassment
ensued...
