Greetings-
Regarding the Whole Bumper sticker slogan thing-
My favorite, I think, and the one that I might put on my car (and let me
assure you I am NOT the bumper sticker type) is
SCADIAN BY CHOICE. ATLANTIAN BY DESTINY.
It's quick, it's easy, it shows pride without belittling other kingdoms. It
can be reversed and it still works quite well.
It's kind of a cheer for the kingdom and the society. Of course, it you
wanted to go with something a bit more realistic you might try
AMERICAN BY BIRTH. SCADIAN BY MINOR BRAIN DYSFUNCTION.
Admittedly, this one is considerably less uplifting. For some of us we can
take the truth a step further (and by us I include ME) and go so far as to say
the following-
SCADIAN BY OVERABUNDANCE OF FREE TIME. ATLANTIAN BY SHEER GEOGRAPHIC GOOD
FORTUNE.
And, speaking strictly for myself, I could go one more step further-
SCADIAN BY MULTIPLE HEAD INJURIES. ATLANTIAN BY DUMB LUCK. BARD BY GROSS
NEGLIGENCE.
I also like this one:
NOBLE BY NATURE. PEON BY THE FUEDAL SYSTEM. (this one also sounds more
period, so would appease certain subsects of the population. You could ink it
onto parchment and then put it through a period laminating machine (?) and glue
it to your car using glue you had made from boiling down the hooves of deer.
Hmmmm . . . period bumper stickers . . . sounds like a creative anachronism
just waiting to be exploited. You go for it, but don't forget my 10% finders fee
for the idea!)
Of course, I also think we should specialize by ranks at times. The peerages
could each be handed a bumper sticker upon their elevations.
SCADIAN BY CHOICE. PELICAN BY RIGHT OF MARTYR COMPLEX.
SCADIAN BY CHOICE. LAUREL BY RIGHT OF 3,000 POUNDS OF DOCUMENTATION.
And, of course,
SCADIAN BY CHOICE, KNIGHT BY RIGHT OF OPENIN' UP EXTRA LARGE CANS OF
WHUPASS.
Anyway, just my 2 cents. If anyone actually decides to make these, let me
know. I'll buy one!
