[MR] Acorn

Your Grace,

As the Kingdom Chronicler, I get every publication as a perk of the office.
I have noticed that I have been getting the EK, Middle, and Caid on or
before the first. Most, including Atlantia, within the first week of the
month, the worst is Northshield and the West which arrive three weeks after
the fact.

There is a print house that quite a few kingdoms are using for their
publisher and mail house. They are running before postage .67 - .68 an
issue. The publisher that I use runs for .66 an issue and they are local
where the other is in Tennessee.

I have to say that the bottleneck is not in my office, the publishers, or
the mailing house. I feel that if you give the USPO 5-7 business days to
mail anything as far as DC from the NC/SC state line it should be enough but
it isn't the case. Once it is out of my hands there is nothing I can do
about the time it takes for the newsletter to be delivered.

One suggestion that I have though of that would impact the entire Kingdom,
is to change the dates of the deadlines up 15-30 days to give the USPO
enough time to deliver the Acorn.

Yours in Service,
Otto

Good Morning,
I too received my April Acorn last Friday. It comes third class as does the
other SCA newsletter I subscribe to. I received my 3rd class copy of the EK
newsletter Pikestaff on April 27th, a day before the past due issue of the
Acorn. For over a year I have received every issue of the Pikestaff in the
month prior to which it is due and every issue of the Acorn at the end of
the month in which it is due. I find it hard to believe the East Kingdom has
a much better system. The bottleneck is somewhere in our system. I sincerely
hope our new Chronicler can find a solution to this frustrating issue.

Sincerely,
Duchess Simone
