Good Gentles all-

Please, please, PLEASE take all the personal statements, ego based comments 
and spontaneous anger driven rebuttals off of this list.  Most of the last 
several missives that I have seen on this subject are completely one on one and 
personal, and so they should be addressed in a one on one and personal manner 
directly to the person they are intended to be for.  Open discussion is great.  
Open argument is also just fine, as long as it is reasonably civil.  In my 
opinion, which I admit is often flawed, mean angry comments are not appropriate 
for this list.  I know of at least one person who has left the list since this 
(very frayed) thread started.  Please don't make any more leave.

This is addressed to no one person in particular and is meant to be a plea 
for civility, not the beginning of another meaningless argument.  (Hence why I 
sent it to the LIST, not to any one particular person).  Please address all 
comments about this missive to ME, not to the list, unless they are truly 
pertinent to the list.
