I wish to offer my congratulations to the winners of our
Pentathlon/Triathlon in Persona competitions yesterday at KASF. Lady
Kateryn Rous was the winner of the Pentathlon, and Jessica McKlinchey was
the winner of the Triathlon. Well done, Ladies!
This competition is particularly challenging as competitors must provide
items in a variety of arts and sciences: five items out of at least three
different categories of A&S representing the same timeframe/location. With
such a challenge, I also want to thank and congratulate the intrepid
artisans who made the effort and the inspiring items. These were:
Elizabeth of Hadley Hall, Rosalind Delemere, Livia Zana, Mathilde Bourette,
Bryn y Pobydd, Tessa de Spina, and Baroness Kaleeb. Thank you for sharing
your excellent work with us!
Further I thank the MANY judges who helped out. Our head judges for each of
the five categories were: Master Eldred Ælfwald, Baroness Maddalena
Salutati, Mistress Caitlin Cheannlaidir, Mistress Violante, and Sir Aelfred
of Cres. Mistresses Ceridwen, Keilyn, and Allasondrea also helped me
tremendously with managing the check-in and results, keeping me (almost)
sane. Other members of the Order of the Laurel contributed to the prizes
gift cards to Borders Books, and wonderful woven wool bags by Mistress
Susanna.
With over forty items to judge in roughly three hours, it was a tremendous
effort to give appropriate attention and scoring to all the items. While we
strove to give detailed comments on all the forms, it is inevitable that
some didnt get the feedback they richly deserved. I know that all our
judges are willing to spend more time talking with any entrant who wants
more conversation about their work. Please feel free to contact them
directly, or contact me to help you connect.
And thank you Sudentorre for such a great event!
Anne of Carthew
Principal of the Order of the Laurel
