Have you looked at the resources at the National Library of
Medicine, since you're in the area? I worked there as a temp
several years ago, & they're both well-stocked & very helpful.
PubMed, their articles database, is accessible on the WWW as:

Also, the bacterium is usually referred to as Yersinia. Just as a
warning-I plugged the bacterium's name into their database, & I
got thousands of entries.
