Here begins the court report for Her Majesty Seoniad Regina Atlantiae held
on the 24th day of June Anno Societatis XXXXI called 2006 on the common
calendar in the Wastelands held that day upon the grounds of the Elchenburg Castle
in the Barony of Sacred Stone.
Entering, as is her custom, after the court of Marc and Alianor who hold
Sacred Stone for the Crown, she joined them and the visiting Baron Duncan and
Baroness Eyrick of Hawkwood in the chairs of state before the populace. With her
traveled her heirs, Prince Ragnarr and his lady, the Princess Anneke.
Her Majesty welcomed all those who attended their first event that day and
handed each of the nine folk a scroll bearing thanks and return from herself
and her good husband, Michael Rex who was, sadly, unable to attend.
Then did Her Majesty begin recognizing members of the populace for their
works, service and accomplished support.
First was Lord Alain ap Daffyd made a member of the Order of the Opal for
much service to the kingdom.
Then was Katheryne Himmelstein called before the throne to receive her Award
of Arms. As she was escorted by her lord husband, Johan Himmelstein, Seonaid
bade him step forward also and awarded him arms as well for the service the
couple has exemplified.
Next did she call forth the Lady Miriel Crawford, who had helped on staff
with this and several other events, to receive the Award of the Fountain.
Lady Ælfwyn av Bornholm, who sat gate the entire day, was brought forward by
her lord husband Lord William of Øland, who had assisted with gate, organized
a heraldic consult table and cried camp several times the day. First Ælfwynn
was given the award of the Order of the Opal and then, as William was
leading her from court did the Queen call him forward and add his name to the Order
of the Opal as well.
Nuala inghean Magnusa was called before court whereupon Her Majesty did
praise her for the Queen’s Tea which Nuala helped arrange. For this and many
other instances of service, was Nuala made noble with the Award of Arms.
Muireann inghean Chormaic, daughter of Nuala, was called next and praise
was again given for the quality of the foods she prepared for the Queen’s Tea.
As this is also but one example of the service given by this gentle, Seonaid
awarded her arms noting that service seems to run in families.
At this time there was a break in the adult business as Her Majesty gathered
the attendant children before her, asking how their day had been and had
they enjoyed the event. She gifted each of about a dozen children with a toy
from a basket of goodies. Those children who had also been present at Assessment
were gifted two toys as the basket had been forgotten at that event. Much
smiling and many giggles rewarded Atlantia’s Fairest Rose.
Returning immediately to the serious work of court, Seonaid called forth the
Order of the Pearl and declared their ranks to be incomplete. She sent forth
a gentle of the court to fetch the artisan Lord Eadric Fahomra called the
Potter. Although she had never been fortunate enough to see his work for
herself, many had written to her of its quality. A small bottle was presented for
her inspection which she judged to be magnificent and agreed with the wishes
of many of the kingdom’s most accomplished crafts people. She inducted him into
the Order on the spot.
Then did she call forth Annora Hall whose embroidery work had been brought
to her attention. For this skill did she award the Coral Branch which carries,
also, an Award of Arms creating Annora a noble.
Geffrei Maudeleyne who had served the entire day as Minister of the Lists, a
task, stated the Queen, that is not easy and serves the event, the populace
and the kingdom well. For work such as this at many events in the past was he
raised to the ranks of nobility and Awarded Arms.
Lady Caterine Saint Lô, when called to court, came from behind the chairs of
Their Excellencies Sacred Stone as she had served the day retaining for them.
As it is not uncommon to find this gentle working in this or other ways, she
was made a member of the Order of the Opal.
Isabeau du Laclonge was next called forth and her service to canton, barony
and kingdom was recognized as she was made noble and Awarded Arms.
Elys Storm, for his efforts to support events and organize archery
activities was next created a nobleman and awarded arms.
Lord Talorgen nei Wrguist took over duties of court at this time and called
Herrin Gisela vom Kreuzbach forward to be added to Order of the Opal.
Next was called to court Lord Christophe of Grey for word of his skill with
bow and arrow and his great success at increasing the ranks of accomplished
archers in Sacred Stone had reached Her Majesty’s ears. For these reasons did
she then call forth the members of the Order of the Yew Bow and add Christophe
to their number. She presented him with a Yew Bow medallion of cast metal
crafted by his friend Tomas Herrero de Toledo.
And finally did Seonaid call back the Order of the Pearl to her court for
they had clamored to add another to their ranks and then was Lady Louise de la
Mare brought into court. Her artistry in researching and creating good period
garb did require she be made a Companion of the Pearl in their opinion and
Her Majesty agreed.
Before dismissing court, did Seonaid call for Dyrfinna inn Norraena. It was
discovered that she was not in court and was likely in the kitchen helping to
prepare for feast. Her Majesty wished to acknowledge the time and work given
by Dyrfinna and thank her as she had spent several hours of the event filling
in promissory scrolls and giving one of her own to fill in a gap.
At this time, as the sun sat low on the tree-line and with thanks for a
lovely event, good companionship and a beautiful day, did the Queen close her
court of Wastelands and retire to the feast pavilion.
Prepared by my hand this 27th day of June. Any mistakes are my own and I beg
you’re your forgiveness and corrections.
