Greetings Atlantia!

The King's Assessment is in 8 days and following are the latest news:

https://filebox.vt.edu/users/lgantner/Assessment.html - Official Webpage
updated with latest info

http://filebox.vt.edu/users/lgantner/Assessment_Schedule.html - Current
Schedule, subject to change with new info coming in

Please be sure to check out the above pages since a lot of info has been
added. Answers to the most frequently questions asked, have been added
to the page. Also lots of useful info has been added.

Merchants - if you have not already contacted the Autocrat do so asap to
be sure to get enough space.

WaterBearers - This is a call out to all water bearers and everyone who
knows people suitable for water bearing. We are expecting lots of
fighters and are in need of water bearers. We have the equipment but
more water bearers are needed to supply everyone at a fast pace. Water
Bearing is an important task and we all appreciate Water Bearers a lot!

Fighting: There will be a total of 5 massive melee battles and 2
tournaments be held at Assessments. The battles are including woods,
town, and siege battles. The tournaments will be in bearpit format or a
format specified to best prepare for Pennsic. For an exact time of the
battles and tournaments be sure to check out the official schedule on
the page.

Info about the site: The site is primitive therefore be sure to bring:
Your solar showers, day shades, a personal chair to sit on,
sun-screen...consider Pennsic and consider what you will need for 2-3
days and bring it. The site will have Porta-Js and 1-2 showers. Fires
are only going to be allowed in designated areas only. This means that
if you would like to have a campfire at your encampment, be sure to see
someone of the Assessment staff to make sure the area has been cleared
properly. There will be a main bonfire in the common area where most of
the activities after the fighting are happening.

Bardic Competition: There will be an informal bardic competition held at
the bonfires at Assessment. So if you are a bard or if you know good
tunes - be sure to bring them. Several great bards have already informed
me of their coming, so you will not want to miss this.

Classes: Several classes are being offered with the central focus to
prepare you for Pennsic. So be sure to check them out. All fighting
related classes have been scheduled at non-fighting times. For a list of
classes be sure to check out the main page. Soon the class schedule will
also be added there.

Feast, Breakfast, Lunch: Currently there are still a few feast spaces
available, so be sure to pre-register to get onto feast. Breakfasts and
Lunch will be served by Black Diamond's Canton of Azurmont, no
registration needed, just stop by and see the goods they have to offer.

Encampments: There is no limit to the size of your encampment, but
please be sure to arrive early to get the area you want and any help
that you might need. The main A&S competition is for encampments so be
sure to prepare and show what you are planning to take to Pennsic.

Newcomers: There will be lots of activities that are good for people new
to the SCA, so if you know of people who are new be sure to bring them
so we can show them what Atlantia is all about!

Finally I have a personal request for all of you who are attending The
King's Assessment. When you see the Autocrat be sure to check out his
garb, and if you like it be sure to tell Ailoua about it, since she's
the seamstress of his fantastic garb. She is easily found since she's
the Head Troll in charge of the event.
