Many of you know that there is a group of us in the eastern most
reaches of the Barony of Nottinghill Coill that are in process of
forming our own group in Darlington, Lee, Sumter, Chesterfield,
Kershaw, and Marlboro counties in South Carolina. Unofficially, we are the interest
group known as Brockshire Abbey. There is a lot of interest in the
SCA in this area and we will be holding our first of many fighter
practices/A&S days next Sunday at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in
Hartsville (direction will follow). For the time being, we are
planning these events for the 2nd Sunday of each month. We will be
holding fighter practice for heavy (rapier if there is a marshal and
an interest). Our friends in Misty Marsh have offered their
services as heavy marshal and the church hall will be used for A&S.
We intend on making some loaner garb for any newcomers and working
on members on-going projects. Please join us Sunday June 11th at
4:00pm. There is also considerable space available at the site to
hold other activities such as archery if there is an interest, a
marshal, and equipment. Please join us for a day of fun and
fighting and help us get our new group off the ground. If you
cannot join us this month, we will have another the 2nd weekend in
July as well.

Directions from Columbia: I-20 East to exit 116 (Hwy 15
Bishopville) Go 16 miles to Hwy 151. Turn Left. Go 4 miles on Hwy
151 past Carolina Pines Hospital. Church is 2 blocks past the
hospital on the right.

>From Florence: Best route to Hwy 52 to Hwy 151 past Darlington
Raceway. Stay on Hwy 151 (be careful. Around the race track is a
bit of a speed trap) about 20 miles. Past Carolina Pines Regional
Hospital. Church is 2 blocks past the hospital on the right.

If specific directions are needed from anywhere else, please feel
free to email me at sebastien_de_valmont2 at yahoo.com

Hope to see as many of you as possible!
In service to Atlantia,

Lord Sebastien de Valmont
