[MR] Reminder: FalconCree Pre-Pennsic Practice, Potluck Picnic and Pout Party in the Park TOMORROW 7/22

Just a last-minute reminder about the alliterated event tomorrow.  Please

The Canton of Falcon Cree invites one and all to a Pre-Pennsic Practice,
Pout Party and Potluck Picnic in the Park on Saturday, July 22 at the
Southside Park in Simpsonville, SC from 2pm - dark.  Come get your
last-minute authorizations before Pennsic, or just come down and hang out
with us.  The Canton of Falcon Cree will also be holding a swap meet there -
bring your SCA-related goods to trade or sell.  The Canton of Falcon Cree is
selling off some of the stuff we have accumulated over the years and no
longer have use for, including a 13" TV, a large coffee urn, and
miscellaneous feast gear and garb pieces.  Southside Park is south of
Greenville, SC just off I-385 (link to directions below) and has great
playgrounds for kids, ample shade and field space, and convenient bathrooms.
The Southside Park is also the home of Discovery Island Water Park, so
consider packing a swim suit!  (Admission to water park is $6 for adults, $5
for persons under 48" tall)

 

 

 

Activities: fighter practice & authorizations (armored & rapier), swap meet,
potluck picnic (pouting optional.)  If your name begins with A - H, please
bring sandwich fixin's to the picnic; I - R please bring side items; S - Z
please bring desserts.  The canton will provide water and lemonade.

Directions: take your best route to I-385 near Simpsonville / Greenville.
Get off at Exit 30 (Standing Springs Road / Old Stage Road).  From
Greenville and points north of Simpsonville, continue straight through the
light at the top of the exit ramp on to Standing Springs Road.  From
Columbia and points south of Simpsonville, turn left at the top of the exit,
proceed over the overpass, then turn left at the next light onto Standing
Springs Road.  From here, you can also follow the signs to Discovery Island
Waterpark.  Continue on Standing Springs Road.  At the second light, turn
right onto Baldwin Road.  Go about a mile down the road, the Southside Park
is on your left.  The practice field is on your right, directly across from
the playgrounds.
