Greetings to the populace!
Just making sure everyone is aware of the three classes being taught at
University that are specifically intended for children, aged 9 to 13.
318 - Introduction to Playing the Recorder - taught by Wistric Oftun.
This class is intended to introduce the basic fundamentals of learning to
play the recorder, with emphasis on mechanics and musicality than theory.
Students are encouraged to bring their own instruments if they have them.
1 hr. This class does count towards Academy credit.
418 - Medieval Animals, Oh My - taught by Lady Livia Zanna. This class
is intended to talk about and discuss manticores, crocodiles, unicorns, and
other mythical and real beasts, as well as the wonderful things medieval man
believed they did. This class does count towards Academy credit.
518 - Introduction to Blacksmithing - taught by Lord Solvarr Hamarrson.
This class will be a practical hands-on class with forge and anvil,
demonstrating simple techniques of forge safety, tools, use, basic
metalurgy, and weather permitting, a hands on session in the art of
metalworking. Younger children may attend with CONSTANT PARENTAL
supervision, but may be prohibited from actual participation for safety
reasons due to lack of muscle/ motor skill development at the decision of
the instructor. This class does count towards Academy credit.
And, while personally I have rarely observed this behavior in the youth of
Atlantia, in the best interests of the good instructors donating their time
and skills to children,
Please understand that rude or disruptive behavior will result in the
student being removed from the class room, and returned promptly to the
parent or guardian. These classes are being offered at the requests of
children for specific classes, and not as a child-care alternative.
Pass on to local lists please.
Thank you!
Livia Zanna
