[MR] SCA Plates in VA

it appears that it would take a minimum of 350 prepaid
applications to convince the VA DMV to issue a special
plate. there is some info on doing it with a $3500
admin fee, but they still require 350 plates to get
sold before they will issue any.

i would like a Kingdom license plate, rather than a
generic SCA one, given the choice. there are no
copywrite issues i can think of since it only requires
an artist to draw the arms (or the badge) and then
give permission to use it. i would do the whole plate
in royal blue, with white "waves" drawn thinly across
the center, and the kingdom device or badge on the
left. put Virginia across the top and www.atlantia.org
on the bottom, and have the plate letters in gold.
i think that the only problem with the whole idea is
that 350 seems like a large number of people to
convince to buy an SCA plate. do we even have that
many members in the state?
