Greetings!
Let it be known that at Ice Castles this Saturday all of the fighting can be indoors. We have a 120' x 80' enclosed, concrete floor, heated gym. If the weather gods are nice to us, there is a field for fighting out of doors, but that is optional, not mandatory.
So bring your three man team. The prizes are pretty nice, and the fighting won't be miserable no matter the weather.
Besides, there will be Investiture activities done in fine Black Diamond Tradition. Not sure what those are? Come and find out.
Not into fighting? Participate in our A&S activities! Bring three loaves of your period recipe bread, or bread using period flours like spelt or acorn. Add some documentation and see how you do! Not into baking but have some period mittens, or a cloak, or a particularly warm pair of pants or other garb? Again add some documentation and enter Warm Things. There is of course display space for other objects, projects, and works in progress! Come show off your winter projects! You could walk off with some pretty nice prizes.
A bit on the young side? There is a place where parents and children can work on activities or play games.
The site closes at 9pm but we have a post revel room fairly nearby at the Best Western Valley View Hotel in Roanoke. Of age? BYOB.
Feast will be prepared by our very own Master Juan Carlos!
Come one! Come all! It will be a good time.
