Fool's Twelfth Night
Canton of Crois Brigte
Winston-Salem, NC
January 20, 2007
Kingdom Twelfth Night and Yule are over and now you can put all seriousness
aside and join us for the silliness of a "reverse court" and the wonders of
a "backwards feast". Foolishness you say? But of course, welcome to Fool's
Twelfth Night!
Fun and merriment abound at our foolish festivities. Enter into a realm
where the garb is motley (painfully so), the games and gambling are for fun
and prizes, the most foolish soul sits the throne and dessert, of course, is
served first!
All those attending will vote for the silliest amongst our ranks. This
lucky Fool then reigns as King or Queen, complete with silly hat! There
will be a Gluckshaus game running throughout the day. Whoever ends the day
with the most baubles (whether hard earned, conned or begged) will be
declared the winner. Other contests and games of fun and merriment include
the most foolish hat, best use of aforementioned motley, best foolish
subtlety, mask making for the kids (and the adults too), a scavenger hunt ,
pointy hat ring toss and maybe if we aren't too full from the feast,
dancing.
The site is St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, 2595 Parkway Drive,
Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The site opens at 10 AM and closes at 10 PM. The
site is wet (no original containers, please) and no pets are allowed.
Eva Liao and Albina Gherardi (Meg Webb and Dawn Perez) will be serving as
the foolish head cooks. Those with dietary concerns may reach them via
e-mail at megan.m.webb at gmail.com or dagperez at yahoo.com
The cost of all this fun is only $8 for on-board and $4 for off-board.
Children 12 and under are half the adult costs. Non-member adults must pay
an additional $3 surcharge. A light lunch will be served to everyone. The
feast is limited to 65 gentles. Please make your checks payable to the
Canton of Crois Brigte, SCA, Inc.
