Due to a mix-up with the event flyers for Dun Carraig's event and Ponte
Alto's event in February, I am posting the flyers for both events as they
should have been in the Acorn.  I apologize for any confusion that this may

February 17 - A Day in the Middle East 
Barony of Dun Carraig - Mechanicsville, MD

We invite you to spend a day in the medieval Middle East. This year we will
also be treated to the presence of their Majesties in full Turkish regalia
as they invest our new Baron and Baroness. There will, of course, be the
usual drumming, dancing, and enough fabulous food & drink to keep all
attendees energized throughout the day. 

Where: Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Mechanicsville, MD
When: February 17th, 2007. Site opens at 10 AM and closes at 10 PM. 
A& S Activities: Artisans of all sorts are encouraged to show off their work
at our A&S display. Sponsored competitions include Best Middle Eastern Garb
by Newcomer (ME persona for less than a year). The event will also feature
various classes (see the website for specifics as they are posted).
Cost: The site fee includes a generous dayboard for all of our guests.
Because of this, we request that even those who plan only to day trip
pre-register to ensure adequate food and drink are purchased for all
attendees. All those who pre-register will be entered into a drawing for a
fabulous prize!

Site Amenities and Restrictions: Site is DRY and candles are permitted. 
Feast: A sumptuous Middle Eastern feast will be prepared by Mistress
Minowara Kiritsubo. There will again be a dayboard of finger foods
throughout the day. Please contact Cook at Birthday.DunCarraig.net with dietary
concerns. Dining will be at low tables, so please bring pillows to make
yourselves comfortable. If such seating arrangements present a problem for
you, please contact the autocrat to arrange more traditional seating.
Merchants: Merchants, there is NO merchant fee. All that is required is a
paid pre-reservation and your table requirements (tables provided).
Children's Activities: There will be a full day of children's activities
including a dance class especially for them.

Directions: 
>From the DC Area: Take your best route to the 5 South exit on the southern
side of DC Beltway (Exit 7A). Just before the town of Waldorf, 301 will
merge with 5. You will need to make a Left turn to stay on 5. Take MD 5
South to MD 235 South. Follow MD 235 South for two miles. Mt. Zion is on the
left.
>From the Baltimore Area: Take your best route to 301 South. Just before the
town of Waldorf, make a left turn onto Maryland 5 South. Take MD 5 South to
MD 235 South. Follow MD 235 South for two miles. Mt. Zion is on the left.
>From the Virginia Area: Take your best route to 301 North across the Potomac
River. You will drive through the town of Waldorf. Just after leaving
Waldorf, turn right onto Mattawoman-Beantown Road. Then, make a right onto 5
South. Take MD 5 South to MD 235 South. Follow MD 235 South for two miles.
Mt. Zion is on the left.
>From South of the 301 Bridge: Take your best route to the 301 bridge. Follow
301 north to 247. Take 247 to MD 4. Take MD 4 to MD 235. Turn left onto 235
(N). The church is 18 miles north and is on the right just past the Apple
Basket Store.
