Dear Atlantian Friends,
The Barony of Bryn Madoc invites you to the 27th
Tournament of the Dreamstone, April 21-23, just over the
border at beautiful A.H. Stephens Park in Crawfordville,
Georgia (less than an hour from Bordervale Keep):
http://www.brynmadoc.org/dreamstone27.html
In addition to the traditional double-elimination
Dreamstone Tourney, there will be the Baron's Prize Tourney
and a youth combat Baroness' Prize Tourney.
The feast is scheduled to begin at 5:00 pm, so daytrippers
will have time to feast *and* revel before heading home at a
reasonable hour. Following the feast will be dancing on the
green. For children only, there will be a special children's
feast (featuring dragon nuggets!) and revel with alchemical
dramatic entertainments (medieval themed DVDs).

And if you think period feasts have to serve unidentifiable
foods, weirdly seasoned, with unpronounceable names -- think
again! The Dreamstone 27 feast features STUFF YOU'VE EATEN
BEFORE! (However, we still can't guarantee that you can
pronounce the names ...)

Menu for a feast from the 16th century Holy Roman Empire, in
16th century German, with modern English translation:

Gebratenen Indianischen Hanen (Truthahn) mit gruenen
Pettersilgen (roast turkey [yes, turkey!]with green parsley
garnish)
Gruen Salat mit klein Capern, rote Ruben und harte Eyer
(mixed green salad with oil and vinegar dressing and capers,
with pickled spiced beets and hardboiled eggs on the side)
   Spargel (asparagus)
Reis mit Mandeln (rice with almonds)
Schwammen fricusiert in Butter (mushrooms sauteed in
butter)
   Pfersig Turten (peach tarts)

Second Course:
Ruckbraten mit Zweibeln (roast pork with sautéed onions)
   Braun Senff (brown mustard)
   Cucummernsalat (marinated cucumbers)
   Hauptkraut (cabbage)
Gelbe Ruben mit Butter und Rahm (carrots with butter and
cream)
Bonen mit Speck (beans with bacon)
Gefuellten Apfeln (baked apples, stuffed with raisin, date
and walnut filling)

Note to fighters -- there will be lots of meat and dessert.
