CHALLENGE OF THE HEART - April 22, 2006
Barony of Dun Carraig - Huntingtown, Maryland
Unto my fellow revelers do I send greetings. The
humble Barony of Dun Carraig does invite you to join
us at our annual Challenge of the Heart! Those
gentles who did join us last year can tell you of the
pageantry and wonder that was and will be seen on our
field of honor. This year those gentle who practice
the fine art of rapier fighting will also have a
chance to showcase their skill and courage on the
field! Additionally, the site of this fine tourney
has moved this year and shall be more convenient to
those who travel from outside our borders. The
English Lodge feast is being prepared by our own
Muirghen Rhuad and will be fabulous as usual. So
please come and join us!
Below are some changes that were not in the flyer that
was posted earlier.
MERCHANTS :
Due to recent changes with the site we can now have
Merchants on site!
If you are interested in merchanting please contact

FIGHTING :
Fighting is based on 3 man teams.
The fighting for both heavy and rapier will consist of
a Grand Melee to start, followed by a tourney of
challenges - teams are encouraged to play up their
Challenges for the Gallery.
Prizes (one each for both heavy and rapier) :
Tourney - A set of 3 Cloaks made by Lady Siobhan and
Lady Lucia
Chivalry - A pottery goblet with the mark of the
Challenge made by Eadric the Potter
Ladies Choice - A silk scarf painted with the mark of
the Challenge, made by Lady Masarrah
Award of the Heart - An award for the fighter who
displays the most heart in their fighting through out
the day.
If you are interested in registering a team in advance
please contact Lady Lore - lorebubeck at
duncarraig.net by April 14th with your team name so we
can get your banners made!
CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES
We WILL be having children's activities.
Children's Space : This are will not be staffed but
will be set up for playpens, games, kids toys, and
coloring.
Children's Corner : This area will be staffed during
?????. Activities will include Shield Decoration,
Knight Relay Race/Coloring, Paper dolls, small
'banner' making, Story time, and a scavenger hunt.
(Subject to change depending on the number of
kids/volunteers.)
