10th Annual Siege of Glengary
Shire of Sylvan Glen (Eastern Panhandle of West
Virginia)
Co-sponsored by the Barony of Highland Foorde
(Atlantia)
Camp Frame 4-H Camp Hedgesville, WV
Sept. 30-Oct. 2, 2005

Highland Foorde is a vibrant and growing barony of
northern Atlantia. Our population growth has afforded
us many opportunities but has also presented us with
many challenges in providing for the needs of our
people. The colony we have established in our western
region is beginning to show great promise. The
continued development of this area is vital to the
stability of our barony.

The Kingdom of Aethelmearc, however, surrounds this
colony, on three sides, and it is connected to us by
only one road running through a narrow, mountainous
passage. The citizens of Aethelmearc’s borderlands are
still suspicious of our intentions, fearful even of
invasion, and may be conspiring to barricade the
Western Road. Protecting the development of this
region is crucial. We cannot allow this barricade to
be erected, and so we urgently call upon our friends
and allies to come to our aid in defending our barony.
We will march on Glengary in the Shire of Sylvan Glen
where we believe weapons and supplies are being
stockpiled in preparation for the siege of the Western
Road. Join us Sept 30 – Oct. 2, 2005 in defense of our
Barony.

Come celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Siege of
Glengary with us at the Camp Frame 4-H Camp. This site
features a 350-seat feast hall, lots of room for
classes, an indoor fencing arena, and 200+ bed Viking
longhouses (dormitory style cabins). Dormitory space
will be allotted on a first come first serve basis.
Tent camping is also permitted. The site is located on
Camp Frame Rd (no street number), Hedgesville, WV. The
site will open on Friday, Sept. 30 at 6:30 pm and
close on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 4 pm. No early birds please
as this may endanger our ability to rent this camp
again. This site is wet, and dogs are allowed. Most of
the camp is handicap accessible.
Join us as we mark this momentous occasion with a full
day of martial activities including heavy combat,
youth combat, archery, thrown weapons, and fencing.
The Youth Combat fighters will also be sponsoring a
Toys for Tots Tourney. Contact our Youth Marshall,
Laird Wulfric Grimbeald (Wulf Johnson) at
lairdwulf at aol.com for more details. The gentler arts
will feature an A&S competition with the theme
“Castles: Forts of Fancy”. Entries may be in any media
such as but not limited to textiles, woodwork, even
food for the clever culinary craftsman as long as it
features castles in some form. Children are encouraged
to enter.
The brewing competition returns this year with the
theme being “Apples.” This includes but is not limited
to apples as a fermentable, flavoring, color, garnish,
label decoration, name, bottle shape, palate cleanser,
or any other way you can think of to sneak an apple
into your entry. Be creative! Try an orchard on the
label, or an apple platter for presentation. We will
also entertain the populace with a bardic competition.
There will be classes and a feast at the end of the
day. Merchants are welcomed. Please contact the
autocrat with your space requirements. Please visit us
