   I consulted with an aquaintance who was familiar with many east African spices and with only a description (I did not have the website of which you posted before) she suggested it could be M'Bongo.
See below for definition.

M'Bongo:
Atzoh plant,spice=seeds called mbongo. Aframomum citratum, a cousin to grains of paradise.
