[MR] Baronial Court Reports for Masters of Defense, Barony of Lochmere

mundane year count) Aelfgar Greyseas and Aryanna Hawkyns, Baron and Baroness  of 
Lochmere bid the populace farewell at Masters of Defense and held their last  
court at the pleasure of their Majesties, Janos and Rachel, true king and queen  
of Atlantia.  It is not my place to recount the full measure of  displeasure 
that Their Majesties poured forth on Baron Aelfgar, but the  populace trembled 
at Their wrath.  
 
Baroness Aryanna announced her intention to retire to one of her country  
manors and to live in seclusion.  But before she did so, she and Baron  Aelfgar 
called several worthies of the barony into their court to reward them  for 
their work.

FitzWarin were thanked for their efforts on behalf of the barony

The baron and baroness next gave Arianna Morgan permission to  approach.  
Mistress Arianna did so and presented Baroness Aryanna Hawkyns  with a bouquet of 
flowers and the thanks of the barony.
 
Next the champions of the barony were asked to stay and assist the new  baron 
and baroness whom their majesties were minded to name.  The champions  
assented.
 
Then Aelfgar and Aryanna requested Quentin de Rath to come into  court and to 
care for their coronets and give them into the keeping of their  majesties.
 
As a final act Aelfgar bid the baronial herald read a proclamation  
rescinding his pardoning of political prisoners and ordered them to return to  whatever 
prison, dungeon or cell they had been held in.  It should be noted  that 
Baroness Aryanna did not sign said proclamation.  
 
In her final gracious gesture before retiring to the country, Baroness  
Aryanna asked their majesties to pardon Baron Aelfgar and withdraw their writ  
against him.

Following their Atlantean Majesties investing Vlad and Mebh with the  
coronets of Lochmere and placing the Barony of Lochmere into their keeping, the  new 
baron and baroness were minded and granted leave to hold court.
 
They thanked the populace for attending Masters of Defense.
 
Griffin Warwick begged leave to come into court and it was gladly  given.  
Lord Griffin presented Baron Vlad with a sword, crafted by his own  hand, that 
the baron might proudly lead the forces of Lochmere against any and  all 
enemies of Atlantia or the barony.  His majesty, Janos, bid Baron  Vlad take up his 
new sword and fight with him against the Kingdom of the  East at Kingdom 
Crusades, which Baron Vlad agreed most heartily.
 
Finally, Baron Vlad and Baroness Mebh added their pleas for clemency for  the 
former Baron Aelfgar from the Crown.

Following a fair day of fighting, their excellencies of Lochmere, Vlad and  
Mebh, asked Janos and Rachel, king and queen of Atlantia for permission to hold 
 court.  Their majesties assented.
 
Vlad and Mebh thanked the populace for a wonderful day full of displays of  
martial skill and courtesy.  They then called  Ormswyn of Aikli into  court, 
thanked him for his time as heavy weapons champion of Lochmere but stated  it 
was time for him to retire and pass on his title.  In exchange for his  baldric, 
their excellencies awarded him the Crab's Claw.
 
Duke Galmr Ingolfssen was then asked to approach their excellencies and  
asked if he would accept the baldric of heavy weapons champion, to which his  
Grace agreed.  He took his place with the rest of the baronial  champions.
 
Lord Mikhail Chayka Pavlov-syn Novgrodets was awarded the Eagle's  Feather.
 
Mistress Arianna Morgan announced the winners of the competitions and  
Kynnyth Pyke announced the totals collected for Hurricane Katrina relief.
 
Lady Hrosvitha von Celle and the children of Lochmere made a presentation  to 
their majesties and their excellencies of crafts produced by their own hands  
and it was warmly received.
 
Lord Erich von Ossenbrugge was awarded the Crab's Claw.
 
Baroness Elspet Byndelase was awarded the Blasted Oak.
 
This is a true report of the baronial courts held at Masters of Defense,  
September 10, AS 40, being 2005 of the common era.
