That's nice. We use a Chevy 3500 (the fifteen-passenger size) to tote our
goods and fittings to events. We fill it. A smaller, less capable vehicle
would limit the range of merchandise we could put out. We just have to
suck it up and pay for gas at one gallon every fifteen miles or so.
I have a legitimate use for those eight cylinders. Your station wagon would
not be able to take the load unless it was towing it in a trailer.
I'd love to have a vehicle that was capable of toting our load cross-country
while being stingier on the fuel, but we have what we have. It sits in our
driveway during the week as much as possible.
I don't understand how you can get from your assertions to your conclusion.
There are critical gaps in your reasoning that I cannot divine.
