Hmmmmm.....it would seem from many of the responses on here that I am "preaching to the choir". Those of you who have responded all have histories of contributing at events AND at home to make these things work. This was simply a personal observation made after the last three events I was at. I'm certainly no math major. I know what it takes to run an event.....I've autocrated, cooked, run troll, marshalled, etc. for more than a few, myself. What rubs me wrong is seeing the kitchen staff cleaning up the next day after all the preparations and cooking they have already put in. When you walk out of the hall on Sunday morning, look around and see who is still there....not that many. At least at a bed and breakfast you are required to check out or say "bye". We all have our times when we can contribute and when we can't. Some feel that their service via whatever office they hold is sufficient. Some feel that one should get the equivalent service and pleasure that they would get at
a mundane amusement park. Some feel that their help is not needed or wanted. To all of these I would say, this is your dream, this is my dream, this is our dream.....and it's only going to be what you make it. Contribute as much as you want........
