An excellent idea!  I would think it more on the order of a jar, with  a huge 
cork stopper, like the ones you see at the kiosks in the malls. And  Pennsic 
isn't the only possible area. How about:
 
Armor money
Garb money
Estrella War
Lilies War
Gulf War
Event Money 
 . . . . any other ideas?
