[MR] Defined description of lines and columns....Success. But how are they used?

A column is useful for covering ground. It is also
good for punching a hole through a line and then
passing through to the rear of the enemy formation. It
is extreme vulnerable when hit on the flank or if it
fails to penetrate. The line is useful for placing the
maximum power across the battlefield. It is vulnerable
to either the sort of penetration I noted above and to
being over reached on the flanks by a longer line of
the enemy. Note the sort of battlefields selected by
the English at Crecy and Agincourt. Both were
defensive lines anchored on impassable terrain.
