That is a fabulous suggestion. Should the opportunity present itself, I will pass on your idea to those who will have to make the decisions.
And, any heavy fighters who are prevented from fighting this year due to extreme dampness would be welcomed to provide demonstrations of fighting techniques (on each other or on a pell) to our young fighters. Show and tell is always very popular.

if the event does turn into a lake or swamp, perhaps
we should offer the children the use of the Barn or
the Hall, thus both being courteous, and also giving
the rest of us something to do. i think that
cancelling the war points due to flood and cheering on
our younger warriors would certainly make for a great
story to tell around the camp fire in years to come.
we should, however, resist the urge to let the
children fight the war for us. we should let them have
fun without any performance pressure.
if there has to be some sort of "resolution" to the
war, we could have the Crowns select the unbelted
champions and run a double elim early, leaving the
rest of the day to the children.
