Storvik Baronial Birthday, October 14th-16th

The Barony of Storvik invites you to join our caravan as we set sail in search of distant lands to find our new Baronial Champions. The day’s activities will be centered around a caravan theme that will continue into the evening with feasting, gaming, entertainment, dancing and music – both European and Middle Eastern – lasting far into the night.

Martial Activities:

Bound arm tournament:

Combatants are tied together and fight to the death. Sounds simple. In our recreation of this combatants must grasp a rope tied to a post with one hand while they battle their opponent with a single-handed weapon in the other. The rope is a short 12-18 inches putting a little distant between the combatants, but not too much. We will have loaner gauntlets, elbows, and assorted arm armor for those that normally leave that arm behind a shield and might not have armor for their shield side hand and arm. Each bout will be best 2 out of 3. A penalty will be assessed for letting go of the rope, one loss.

Oriental Tourney:

A tournament where no shields will be allowed, and only one weapon per combatant can be over 24 inches in length. We will have on hand a small assortment of loaner daggers and short swords, 24 inches or less in length, for those choosing to fight double weapon.

Warlord tourney:

When you defeat your opponent or your opponent’s army, they then become part of your army to face an opponent’s army in the next round. When we reach the final round we will ask combat archers to join the melee in the final battle where one army will be tasked to defend the caravan and the other to attack it.

For rapiers, the day will start off with a slagger battle, followed by a woods battle with multiple scenarios.

Archers will be shooting at a variety of targets to show their prowess with the bow and crossbow throughout the day.

The Atlantian Cavalry will be onsite with a variety of equestrian activities. Limited number of horses so pre-reg early.

There will also be youth combat in the afternoon.

A&S: There will be a variety of competitions complementing our caravan theme including: Medieval tarot cards, foods that would have been eaten while on a caravan, and one for any A&S that would or could have been done by travelers.

There will be also be an Open Display of projects either completed or in the works.
