For inexpensive helms try www.renstore.com and www.bytheswordinc.com. I know Renstore has a helm that is 12 ga steel top and 14 ga sides that run right at $100.00 plus shipping. They both also sell armor but I wouldnt go as far as to say it is "inexpensive". Some of it is and some it considerably high as far as I am concerned.

Also, there is always ebay. Alot of times you can find some good deals there, but beware. Alot of the armor on ebay that say "sca legal" isnt.
  In service,
  Lord Sebastien de Valmont

  All,

I have several new combat archery folks that need armor. Waist / chest,
helms, gorget's, elbows and knees. Just simple and baisic. Knees and
elbows we just need Copps. Just baisic SCA helms and gorgets. Simple armor
girdle or large belt is fine for the waist. One lady is esspeccialy small
(5' 2" 100lbs).

Does anyone have any old gear that they want to sell? Does anyone know of
inexpensive vendors other (already know about Ashcraft / Baker and Red
Falcon).

Do any fighting ladies out there have suggestions for chest protection? My
knowledge is a bit limited here. I thought I heard at some point the
Raipier folks used a plastic chest protection? Any information on that
please?

My thanks in advance,
