Greetings to all,

The Canton of Buckston-on-Eno is hosting the Midsummer Twilight
Tourney June 17-19 in Leasburg, NC. The event flyer may be found at
http://www.sinister.net/buckston/MidsummerTourney.html

As was posted earlier this week, we will have Artisan's Row where
gentles will be demonstrating and teaching their skills. In addition,
there will be an area for A&S displays and A&S competitions. If you
wish to display your A&S please contact me <trephina at gmail.com> so
that I will get an idea of your space needs.

Below are listed the A&S competitions. Please contact the appropriate
sponsor if you have questions or comments.

YIS,
Tréphina la Broderesse
MoAS, Buckston-on-Eno

Best Shakespearian (or Shakespearian-inspired) item with extra points
for Midsummers Night Dream theme. Sponsored by Lady Helwynn Ivelchild.
Contact her (ladyhelwynn at yahoo.com) for more information.

Sonnet/Poetry competition, Sponsored by Lord Olivier de Bayonne, Poeta
Atlantiae.
There will be a competition for poems derived in structure, style, or
content from the (dramatic and non-dramatic) works of William
Shakespeare. Documentation is highly encouraged. Contact Lord Olivier
de Bayonne (kevinmbrock at earthlink.net) for more information.

Bake bread outside of your oven! Sponsored by the Royal Baker, Lady
Bryn y Pobydd.
It is easier than you think. Bake in a grill, bake in a dutch oven in
a firepit or a fireplace, bake in a wood-fired stone oven that you
build in your back yard, or come up with something totally new. Just
do it without electricity! Make a loaf of bread of your own recipe
and bake it somewhere other than in your oven. Take pictures, write it
up, use a video camera, do whatever you need to do to show how you did
it. Bring the bread to Midsummer Tournament and let the Royal Baker
and all of those gentles present enjoy a taste of your bread. Points
will be awarded for technical skill, authenticity of ingredients,
documentation, and "bread presence" (taste, sight, smell, crumb), but
the true judges will be the populace when everyone shares your entry
as part of the light evening repast. Lady Bryn y Pobydd's information
is in the Regnum (no calls later than 9 pm, email is best -
brynpobydd at earthlink.net).

Scriptorium competitions, Sponsored by the Guild Mistresses of the
Windmasters Hill Scriptorium, Philippa Tillinghast
<jkennedy93 at yahoo.com>and Tsuruko <mara at viviano.net>.
The following competitions will be held:
Best use of Late Period or Shakespearean influence
 Most prolific
Best use of humor or metaphor
 Best Documentation
 Populace Choice
 Award for Calligraphy Only
 Award for Illumination only
 Best Team Effort
Best Effort by a Single Scribe
Best Non-Traditional Scroll with Historical References.
Documentation is not required except for the documentation award,
however a display of the award influences are encouraged to teach
others.

Contest Rules:
All expected standards of quality and accuracy of the Windmasters'
Hill Scriptorium will be met.
All scrolls to be entered are requested to be delivered to Philippa
or Tsuruko at, or before, the June 11th scriptorium at Lady Siobhan le
Wilful's home. If you will not be able to deliver the scrolls until
Midsummer's please email Philippa or Tsuruko as we will need to allot
space for display.
No more than 2 scroll assignments will be given out at one time.
Completed scrolls must be handed in prior to new assignments being
awarded.
Collaboration is welcomed and encouraged. Prizes will be shared by
collaborators.

Scribes : To avoid more than one scroll being done for the same person
and award it is vital that you info Philippa or Tsuruko if you are
doing, or have done, a particular scroll as soon as possible.
