[MR] a heraldic question

Greetings all,
As one who has been there I can attest to the fact
that evidence will trump just about everything else.
My surname was on the restricted list for many years
until I submitted evidence (by way of a letter from
John Brooke-Little at the College of Arms in London)
that "Windsor" was NOT used in period as a royal
surname.
