[MR] Interesting Project

That is an interesting project. I would suggest the below process. Why
because it would be easier than administrating a group by group role of
arms. I would be interested in working on a project like one I outlined
below. It is a big project so I would want help of more experienced web
programmers. It would be great to write the BOD and say hey listen we have
this project we been working on a few years here's what it does. Can you
throw some funding at it?
Here is how I would Phase it up:
Phase 1: Make a word parser that takes the O & A website and looks for
unique words and puts them in a alphabetical list.
(This step would be easy when compared to the other phases)
Issues: How do you account for words that do not have an object (like a
sword, lion, etc) associated with them) This issue of course compounds the
further you get in the project since the program will have to figure out
what use the words are.
Phase 2: Make a image database that matches up with the long list your just
created. (Not so easy from a labor stand point)
Phase 3: Make a web service that could build devices from blazons using of
AI on the fly or done in a initial run followed up by batch processes every
Laurel Acceptance letter. Number of problems that would have to be overcome
here:
*Are all your images going to be re sizable and interchangeable as a lion on
Argent, a lion sable. is a lot bigger than say Argent, 3 lions sable in
chevron.
*Will the server be able to keep up with requests.
*Designing the AI will be tricky due to the number of conditional elements
involved in stylized charges. Such as a couped lions head compared with one
that is erased. Teaching the AI heraldese may be fun for a few heraldry
programmers.
Phase 4: Design a server side suite of pages that handle user requests like:
*Conflict check my soon to be submission with the O & A using a selected
algorithm (By primary charge, by field division etc)
*Let me browse the O & A but in pictures.
This sounds like fun. Anyone else interested?
