I have so many people to thank for their assistance for KASF. I'm
very, very sorry if I have forgotten anyone!
Thank you so much to the following people:
First to Lady Sveva for allowing me to do this, I've assisted in
several kitchens, but this was my first time as head cook!
To my husband, Wilhelm, for putting up with my stressing before the
day, funky smells (including scorched pea broth... ICK!), pressing
fish, grinding meat, stuffing sausages, trips to the Indian grocery,
and chopping up lots of turnips (and getting a blister on his lily
white hand from said chopping ^_~)
To Eleanora, who also put up with my stressing, did lots of grinding
of meat, helped me make mustards, marinated beets and spent way too
much time simmering sausages the day of. May she get over her disgust
of raw pork soon!
To Lady Helwynn, who helped so much the day of, and was a fabulous
sounding board for plating and quantities.
To Lady Beatrice Villani, who not only made *all* the bread for the
feast the week before, also after cooking and prepping for Chow's
protogéing to Nikulai, came in and lent a hand, fixing my sause and
diligently making filled buns.
To Eibhlinn of Attillium, who, after she and her husband ran lunch,
came in and lent a hand sautéing spinach and probably lots of other
things, and who provided valuable feedback on the presentation and
taste of the feast.
To Baron Wystan for peeling and chopping turnips and slicing bread.
To Lady Phillipa for chopping cabbage and being moral support.
To Katherine Luvell and Corwynn Sinister for opening their home for
the test feast.
To Guenievre, Girard, Helwynn (again), Pierro, Charlotte (whose SCA
name always escapes me), Katherine and Corwynn for helping to cook and
eat the test feast.
Outside the Society, thanks to Justine R, who allowed me to use her
porch not once but twice to smoke trout, and to Nikki N for the use of
her peeler/corer/slicer, without which I would *still* be peeling,
coring and slicing apples for the pies!
And finally, to all who took a chance and ate the feast! I have heard
that almost everyone enjoyed it, and would *love* to hear both from
those who did and those who didn't with any comments, complaints or
constructive criticisms.
Yours in service,
Irmgart
