  March 26th - STORVIK BARONIAL INVESTITURE
Barony of Storvik - Marlboro, Maryland

Come and join the Barony of Storvik on a Joyous occasion.  As Baroness 
Johanna has been called to assist her aged Parents and Grandparents in 
their waning years.  To this end a new Baron, Lord Sean de la Mar, and 
Baroness, Lady Elizabeth Harlyn, will be invested on the 26th of March, 
2005.  Various competitions will be held in celebration of our new Baron 
and Baroness. Note: There Will Be Dancing! So, gather your banners, your 
armor, your Families, Companions and Households, and join us to complete 
the company of this glorious day.

We request the populace to devise games of amusement to entertain and 
add to the gaiety of this occasion.  A space will be provided with times 
to be divided among any with such diverse amusements (for example a 
historical quiz, paint the knight with a spear...) Please Contact the 
Autocrat to arrange a time for your contest/game.  Best such amusement 
will be recognized.

Tentative Schedule (subject to changes and additions)

The Hall will open at 10:00 AM - (Anyone who get there before that time 
can be conscripted to setup for court!)  
First court will start at 11:00 AM
A Bear Pit Tourney will begin 30 minutes after court has ended.
Dances will be taught in the Afternoon
A&S Judging will be in the Afternoon
Evening Court will begin at 4:30 PM
Feast will be at 6:00 PM
Dancing will follow Feast
The Hall closes at 10:00 PM

Martial Activities: Bear Pit Tourney (weather permitting)

Heraldic Competition

The most impressive heraldic display (not necessarily the biggest!) 
Competition will be sponsored by Dame Brenna of Storvik.

Arts & Sciences Activities/Competitions:

All Things Viking
The object can be anything that has a Viking theme but must incorporate 
our new Baron's  (Gold  Flaunches and three Gold Boars on a Green Field) 
or Baroness's (Gold Flaunches and three Gold Heraldic Roses on a Blue 
Field) colors and depict some aspect of either of their devices. 
Information and descriptions posted to the website.

Viking Toys By Young Artisans
Any object that could be interpreted as a toy that Viking children would 
have played with or used for entertainment purposes done in any medium.  
Documentation or source of inspiration would count for extra points but 
not needed. Entrants must be under the age of 17.

Viking Sotelty
The sotelty (I also apologize for the misspelling the first time) with 
Viking mythology as it's theme. By definition, a soltelty is a sculpture 
or representation made from edible ingredients that may or may not be 
for public consumption. In this case, we will be tasting all entries so 
please make sure that your creation is made for public consumption. We 
ask that a recipe be included in the presentation.  Sponsored by THL

Best Cordial
The best cordial Competition will be sponsored by Sir Gauss Magnusson.
(Judges to be pick from attendees at the event.)

Dancing is planned.

             Child (6-17) :               $  6.00 Day-Trip    $8.00 Feast
             Child (0-5) :                 $  0.00 Day-Trip    $4.00 Feast

Notes:  If the registration is received by March 15, 2005 there will be 
a $1.00 reduction in the Day-Trip fee.  Babes in arms will not be 
charged a feast fee, as long as they do not take a seat.  Remember the 
only firm reservation is a paid reservation.

is 14815 Pratt Street, Upper Marlboro, Maryland, 20772.

Site Restrictions: The Site is wet, and Candles are permitted. 

Merchants are invited but there is a limitation on the number of spaces 
available.  The merchant autocrat is Master Herveus d'Ormonde (Michael 
Houghton at Herveus at radix.net). He can be reached at 301-464-8375, 
Merchants must contact the merchant autocrat prior to the event to 
reserve a space.  We will provide a list of merchants in the next e-mail.

Directions from the Washington DC Capital Beltway:

1.  Take EXIT 17A  MD-202 East toward UPPER MARLBORO. For approximately 9.8
miles

2.  Turn RIGHT onto MARLBORO PIKE/MD-725. Continue to follow MD-725. For
approximately 0.2 miles

3.  Stay straight to go onto PRATT ST. For approximately 0.1 miles

4.  14815 Pratt St, will be on the left.  We can use the parking lot (for
free) on the right of the Fire Hall or garage and street parking is
available.  DO NOT park in the Fire Hall Parking lot.
