[MR] Edging for shield

One that I've seen used very effectively is Rawhide edging. Several
individuals have used large dog chews as their source of Rawhide. They soak
it in water to soften and then attach it to the shield. Maybe someone out
there can give this gentle some tips.

One thing if you edge your shield with a metal "U" channel before covering
it. I would run a bead of silcone caulking between the wood and the metal
to act as a cushion. This eliminates most of the shock from being directly
transmitted to the wood edge and shortening the life of the shield.
