Viking Garb Workshop, Saturday, July 9, 2005, 10 a.m.
Lady Gudrun Ottosdottir, CP, will be holding a
workshop on Saturday, July 9 starting at 10 a.m. in
the Shire of Isenfir, Charlottesville, VA. Directions
to the workshop can be found at
http://isenfir.org/directions/rosecroft.htm.
Lady Gudrun will teach us about authentic Viking apron
dresses, underdresses, undergarments, jewelry,
footwear, embellishments, accessories, headcoverings
etc. I'm sure she'd be happy to talk about men's garb
as well. :) To read more about Lady Gudrun, please
visit her website:

Students should bring paper and pencil so they can
sketch patterns for themselves. "Viking patterns are
not overly-complex and the underdress is no more than
a basic t-tunic with some armpit gussets added in if
you want them. The apron dress is also easy and can be
made using a few measurements." No sewing will be done
at this workshop. Lady Gudrun wants to make sure we
have the basic information down before anyone starts
making anything. She will bring some handouts, so
donations will be greatly appreciated to cover the
cost of the photocopies and travel expenses.
Lady Gudrun requests that you take a look at the
following links to get a head start on the class.

workshop is for those who are serious about
authenticity.
PLEASE contact me (quotku at yahoo.com) if you plan to
attend. The class size is limited and filling up
quickly. Please bring your lunch or a few bucks for
pizza. If you have any questions, please email me.
Also please feel free to cross-post this message.

Lady Anne la Settere
