A reminder about A&S competitions and displays at Midsummer Twilight Tourney.
Site: Person County Group Homes (Farm Ventures) 363 Jerry Dixon Road,
Leasburg, NC 27291.
For event information, consult
http://www.sinister.net/buckston/MidsummerTourney.html or contact the
event steward Lady Ysolt la Bretonne (Nancy Davis) at (919) 489-6662
(ysolt at nc.rr.com).
We have a variety of ways to show your talents at the event. There
will be competitions plus space to display A&S items. Competition
signups will start around 2:30pm after the sumptuous feast from
noon-2pm.
Best Shakespearean (or Shakespearean-inspired) item with extra points
for Midsummers Night Dream theme. Sponsored by Lady Helwynn Ivelchild.
Contact her (ladyhelwynn at yahoo.com) for more information.
Sonnet/Poetry competition, Sponsored by Lord Olivier de Bayonne, Poeta
Atlantiae.
There will be a competition for poems derived in structure, style, or
content from the (dramatic and non-dramatic) works of William
Shakespeare. Documentation is highly encouraged. Contact Lord Olivier
de Bayonne (kevinmbrock at earthlink.net) for more information.
Bake bread outside of your oven! Sponsored by the Royal Baker, Lady
Bryn y Pobydd.
It is easier than you think. Bake in a grill, bake in a dutch oven in
a firepit or a fireplace, bake in a wood-fired stone oven that you
build in your back yard, or come up with something totally new. Just
do it without electricity! Make a loaf of bread of your own recipe
and bake it somewhere other than in your oven. Take pictures, write it
up, use a video camera, do whatever you need to do to show how you did
it. Bring the bread to Midsummer Tournament and let the Royal Baker
and all of those gentles present enjoy a taste of your bread. Points
will be awarded for technical skill, authenticity of ingredients,
documentation, and "bread presence" (taste, sight, smell, crumb), but
the true judges will be the populace when everyone shares your entry
as part of the light evening repast. Lady Bryn y Pobydd's information
is in the Regnum (no calls later than 9 pm, email is best -
brynpobydd at earthlink.net).

Windmasters Hill Scriptorium, Philippa Tillinghast
<jkennedy93 at yahoo.com>and Tsuruko <mara at viviano.net>.

however a display of the award influences are encouraged to teach
