Good Gentles of Atlantia, please allow us to interrupt your busy days for a bit
of important business.
This weekend, many joined us in the Barony of Dun Carraig for the Challenge of
the Heart. This year, our barony tried something a bit different with a
three-man tournament incorporating the pageantry of a pas d'arms. The day was
warm, but free of rain. Many, many more gentles came out to enjoy the day with
us than we had ever hoped, and the event was a grand success.
Our intent in this missive is to offer our humble thanks. First off, we offer
our thanks to all who attended and supported our barony in its new endeavor.
An event's success hinges on those who come to enjoy it. The gentles within,
and also outside of our barony that worked hard to make this event occur are
far to numerous to name. Those who simply showed up and offered their service
without our asking were a true blessing to Dun Carraig. A simple heart felt
?thank you? to all who helped is all we can offer, as the service given was
a debt too great to be repaid. Please know that throughout the day, you were
noticed, your work was appreciated, and each of you demonstrated nobility
worthy of the dream our society represents.
As baronage, our minds were pulled in a million different directions this
weekend, and we are sure there are several things that did not get taken care
of. One of these items weighs deeply on our hearts. Through two long courts,
and a sumptuous feast, the person who deserved our thanks the most was
forgotten, and we now offer our apologies and gratitude. Lady Kaolin inn
Oargi, the autocrat for Challenge of the Heart, put many, many hours, much
worry, a few frazzled nerves, an ulcer, and probably a few gray hairs into
making this weekend pleasant for all who attended. Kaolin, you are a dear
friend, and we are indebted to you. Thank you.
Lady Kaolin frequently travels to events within Atlantia. We encourage you to
drop her a note, or offer her a kind word if you enjoyed Challenge of the
Heart.
We now return to your regularly scheduled Monday afternoon.
In service,
Jonathas and Amalia
Baron and Baroness of Dun Carraig
