It's not the holes with the grommet that are the problem. The ends of the 
tent where the peak is have an opening that is large enough for the ridge 
pole to go through. The hole is big enough to give me pause for concern 
about rain blowing in - particularly since a harp will be living in the tent 
with us.
 I'm thinking the wal-mart bags stuffed into the holes during the actual 
rain may be a solution, but what I had in mind was a piece of canvas with 
ends that is stitched to the shape of the peak.
