Lord Gryffri of Newmarch is a good source of information:
pennon at meridies.org <pennon at meridies.org> (He's currently
Pennon Herald of Meridies)

Some very nice looking SCA coins:

Dave the Moneyer in the UK strikes historical coins for a
living:

By the way, have you considered having the coins struck, as
was done in period, rather than cast? Gryffri can supply
coin blanks and is a good source of advice on dies.

Hope this helps. We're using repro period coins for event
tokens at our Danelaw event this October.
