Greetings all!

 

Highland River Melee is fast upon us. This event is held in a public
park (Hagerstown Maryland), and is always visited by a large number of
folks from the community.

 

This year, we're going to set aside an area for anyone who'd like to
provide any kind of demonstrations. We are also going to have an area
for A&S displays, so please feel free to bring anything you'd like for
display as well. (While the competition is garb based, we'd like to have
a variety of arts and sciences on display for the site visitors).

 

A&S Activities: 

 

First, we will have a children's fashion show. This is open to any kids
of all ages to show off their favorite or best garb. This is just for
fun, and not a competition.

 

The A&S competition will be European garb 1100 - 1400. There will be 3
prizes: 

 

1. "people's choice",

2. most historically accurate (documentation will help) 

3. best beginners piece. The beginner's piece category is open to those
who have been sewing for less than a year.

 

We have three wonderful judges, and three great prizes. (Antique sewing
boxes filled with silk thread, notions and trim).
