Isenfir, Lochmere(I'm pretty sure it was them...), and Marinus have all
previously stricken our coins on 3/4" pewter blanks. These have been used as
an interchangeable coin standard between the groups and their gaming
interests, namely the Red Mountain Inn, Rabah's Karavan, and the Crab &
Coin.

Isenfir cut out our own blanks from sheet pewtwer from Atlas Metals (
www.atlasmetal.com ) at a cost of roughly 11 per dollar. The other groups
were purchasing pre-cut blanks for roughly 4 per dollar if memory serves.

An example of an Isenfir pence is pictured at

Hope this helps!!

Lord Gryffri of Newmarch is a good source of information:

Some very nice looking SCA coins:

Dave the Moneyer in the UK strikes historical coins for a
living:

By the way, have you considered having the coins struck, as
was done in period, rather than cast? Gryffri can supply
coin blanks and is a good source of advice on dies.

Hope this helps. We're using repro period coins for event
tokens at our Danelaw event this October.
