Greetings,
Forwarding the following for the Autocrat:
Masters of Defense and Baronial Investiture
September 10th, 2005
Barony of Lochmere
Do you have what it takes to be a Master of Defense? Come to the Barony of Lochmere on September 10th and put your skills to the test for all to see! Set in Spain, but based on the activities of the London Masters of Defense, a guild of martial arts instructors established by Henry VII, this tourney will challenge the participants to prove themselves in both armored combat and rapier combat.
Come join Their Majesties Atlantia King Janos of Cyddlain Downs and Queen Rachel Wallace as they invest the new Baronage of Lochmere, then stay for the tournament and feast.
The fighting theme for the day is Bear-pit. Open lists for both rapier and armored will be available all day. In addition, lists for specified forms will be run at the same time. The tournament itself is composed of two phases: an open phase where fighters can compete in both armored and rapier combat and then the elimination phase where the best of the best are pitted against one another to determine the final victor. Authorizations will be held prior to Investiture. The tournament will commence following Investiture. For the archers, bring your bows, for what Lochmere event would be complete without archery.
For those less martially inclined there will be an open display of Arts and Sciences, so bring your latest projects, or for those inclined to performance arts, feel free to entertain Their Majesties and the attending populous. For the little ones there will be Children's Activities.
