Greetings Unto Their Majesties and the Populous of Atlantia:
It is with great pleasure (and no small amount of relief) that I am
pleased to say that A Winter's Tale was a smashing success thanks to
everyone who either contributed, volunteered or just came out to play
at A Winter's Tale. I thank you all for every big and little thing
you provided in support both physical, emotional or spiritual, for
the guiding hands and the bodily work you put into this event. From
all accounts, Kingdom level, Baronial level, populace and monetarily,
this event was greatly successful. We had planned on approximately
75 attendees and had over 50% more than that number with I believe
115 total attendees on site. The feast and the feast hall I have been
told were truly a transportation to the times and from one and all I
have received feedback from, truly the event brought to life The
Dream--an impossibility without our Royalty and our populace in attedance!
Especial thanks to Their Majesties for seeing fit to grace our Barony with their special brand of Royal Fun and Presence (chocolate coins fly quite nicely Your Majesties! perhaps we could use a trebuchet to bombard our enemies with them and kill them with kindess!), our Baron and Baroness for their largess in hospitality to Their Majesties and our dear friends from Nottinghill Coill, to Lady Avalina of the Woods for her tremendous energy and efforts and stalwart focus on creating the vision as relayed to her initially into a truly magnificent atmosphere, to Lord Menua and the Marshalls of the day for their work in creating once again, unique fighting tournaments, and to Lord Uilleam MacWyllie and his cook staff for a tremendously delicious feast--the King enjoyed many a kabob, and as he proclaimed the best he'd ever had with which I
believe many concur--and a feast which was miraculously provided
at a greatly planned pricing per head that allowed us to entertain
all who wished to feast in a grand style! Thanks also to Lord
Dagobert and Lady Susane for a delightful and relaxing (and much
needed) after event party.
As the autocrat, I could not be more pleased with the results--the
happy enthusiam and obvious enjoyment of all, but most especially a
joy for me to see--our many (!) newcomers having such an enjoyable first event experience--and for the many guests and visitors to our Barony who
traveled no insignificant amount of distance to play with us, I am
most grateful.
When I have recovered a bit more, I will provide other details and
also an accounting of lost and found items...Until that time, know that I am profoundly moved and grateful to everyone--our King and Queen for Their Presence which truly inspired many, not the least of which were our newcomers, our Baron and Baroness Duncan and Eyrick, our officers, our A&S judges, our marshalls, our Champions, our heralds, our scribes, our artisans and musicians, our gamers, our fighters, our newcomers, our oldtimers, and every body who helped carry, move, clean, set up, decorate, cook, serve or give, give and give some more, as well as attend, play and have fun...thank you, thank you, thank you for
making this a delightful experience not just for me but as I have
heard and continue to hear for many, many people! Atlantia...You Rock!
In service to the Kingdom of Atlantia and the Barony of Hawkwood, I am
Lady Gisella du Coeur
Autocrat, A Winter's Tale
