The first Winter War Assestmen went without a hitch and about 60 fighters and archers showed up for a 50 degree sunny day of fighting.

I would like to give special thaks to Duke Ragnar for demonstrating that a aluminum slide can support a fully armored knight.

The Winter War Assestment was kept down in cost due to a special relationship the Barony of Marinus has with the Owner of Camp Sky Anchor, Papa Turtle or Mr Evans. Mr. Evans is a WWII vet who opened Camp Sky Anchor as a camp for handicapped Scouts many years ago. Due to the recent huricanes, there has been a lot of damage to the park. So Marinus worked with Mr. Evans to come out to do service for him in exchange for use of his camp at a very reasonable cost. He has now extended the same deal to any in the Kingdom that want to use his camp. He welcomes hound courseing and Equestrian events. Only restriction is that it is a dry site.

So on April 8-9-10 we are having a service weekend for the camp. All are invited, I just need a head count to give Papa T so he can have food on board. There is no cost, just bring camping gear and your armor if you want to fight in the evening on Sat. I have lined up some Scouts and Navy people to come out and help and I thought having a little pick up tourney might be entertaining for them.

Also if you are a plumber, electrition, carpenter, or know how to bring trees down please come and bring your tools.

Please come out and help if you can. This good gentle has allowed us a field for our use and has hosted two very fun events for Atlantia; WWA and Hero's portion. He is in need. Scout camps usualy depend on Scouts to help maintain the camps, you cannot do that very well with handicapped scouts. Wheel chairs and chainsaws are a bad thing.

So please e mail me if you can come, and I will forward to Papa T.

Thank you
