    I have had some inquiries about hotels. THe clossest is the Surrey House motel (9miles) (757) 294 3191, next is Melody Inn Motel (13 miles) (804) 834 1001, and River's Rest Motel in Charles City (13.9 mies) (804) 829 2753)
ANy others are over the water in Williamsburg, but you have to take the ferry. Ferry scheduel is at http://virginiadot.org/comtravel/ferry-sched-fall.asp. Other wise you have to look at Hopewell and Petersburg for lodging.

    Lodging though is not in the spirit of this event. Remember this is a prep for Gulf Wars and later Blackstone Raids, so no mater the weather we will be having this event. (Unless, like the one time GUlf Wars was cancelled due to a Hurricane, we get something simular.) So plan for the worst weather and be prepared. Better here to discover that you do not have enough insulation on you bed then down in Gulfport.

    A simple free lunch will be served as part of the warming area. Bringing your own feast gear would be nice in the forms of bowls and mugs that can handle warm fluids, however we will have paper service available. Also in the warming tents will be some Wd40 and towels to keep the helms dry if it does rain. Will also have some car wax to apply to help protect the old helm if desired.

    Even if you are day tripping, remember a warm dry set of soxs would be your friend. Wool is period and your friend.
