Greetings Good Gentles,
As Storvik's Investiture rapidly approaches, I'm currently seeking out various artisans, craftsmen and teachers throughout the land who would be willing to share their passion for their art or science and talents with those of us who have yet to experience the pleasures of their craft. I would like to offer a variety of open demos or classes between the hours of 11:00AM and 3:00PM on Saturday, March 26th, 2005.
As those sign up, I will begin promoting what is available not only to the Storvik list & the Merry Rose but will also post a link on our website and add this to a flyer given out that day. Should you, or any member of a local group, like to teach a class or demo, please email me with following information:
SCA and mundane name
Email address
Regular address and phone
Name of the class/demo
A brief description of the course/demo
Number of participants allowed (IE: will there be a cap on attendance?)
Fees, if any
Tools or items your students should bring with them
Time preference
Comments if you possibly need outside space, particular equipment, things copied to be handed out, if you needed to know how many people are interested in advance, etc.
I would also encourage those out there to volunteer to hold classes for children or combine them with those held for adults. Though I understand this may require a bit more energy and patience, I would like to see children get an equal chance to participate and be more involved in the arts and sciences since they will be the future generations to cultivate and carry on these interests.
I look forward to hearing from many wonderful teachers, artisans and craftsmen and want to thank you in advance for your help, participation and contribution in keeping the light of knowledge alive.
Yours in Service,
Lady Kim of Wolfshaven
Minister of Arts & Sciences
Barony of Storvik
