I have been sitting here in my corner watching this thread for months now
trying to stay quiet but even us mice have to speak once in a while.
I have to wonder, before focusing time, energy and debating policy for a
more "online" newsletter yet again, is the real problem truly been addressed.
We as members are paying for a service which is to receive a newsletter. Our
money is being paid to the post office for delivery of said newsletter.
Whether or not it is paid 1st class or 3rd class the post office IS being paid a
fee for service. While I am not exactly sure how much it cost to send a 3rd
class newsletter I would guess it is more then a regular postage stamp. Yet my
letters come in a timely fashion but the Acorn does not.
I believe it is clear that we are receiving poor customer service by the
USPS. I do not think we should have to change the way we do things! IMHO
before we start yet again to bombard our wonderful chronicler with more
suggestions for changing the Acorn 's publication schedule etc. We focus our attention
on the USPS. It is there to serve us! It receives a fee for service! I think
it is ludicrous that anyone should have to wait 6-7 weeks , 2 weeks should
be plenty of time to get a 3rd class to its destination. I have no idea if
many people have filed complaints with any post office or not. But if you are
not getting any satisfaction from your local post office i.e. they shrug it off
with lame excuses take it to the next level (and the next etc.. if needed
all the way to the postmaster general), and make sure your local post office
knows you are filing a complaint above them. I also believe Lady Cassandra has
reported the issues to the PO she mails from but maybe it would help if they
heard from more of us.
It is worth a try and definetly will never change if only a few complian .
I aplogize if this rambled a bit but I get frustrated when someone is doing
a job well but has to change vecause someone else cannot manage to do thier
own very well.
So now I am creeping back to my corner .
Celia
PS Lady Cassandra Thank you for all your patience and grace thru the past
few months
I really love getting the acorn (even when the PO takes it time) and you do
an excellent job.
