Greetings to the great populace of The Barony of Hidden Mountain and the Kingdom of Atlantia.
I just wanted to write a missive to thank everyone for coming and making the event a success. I hope everyone had a good time and will come and visit our fair lands in the future.
Some specific gentles I would like to thank whom without their help the event would not have happened:
Lady Tegan de Moreton for putting in so many hours planning and preparing the wonderful feast. And for helping to be my brain in many other aspects of event planning. Without her assistance and support the event would never have been possible.
Lady Rebecca the Contrary for traveling all the way down and serving as Minister of the Lists. Without her the Equestrian and fighting activities would not have happened without me having some sort of mental breakdown.
Lord John Emeris for most unexpectedly serving as troll for the majority of the day so I could tend to other tasks.
Baron Thylacine for also serving as troll and keeping John Emeris from killing me for sticking him at troll for so long.
Countess Alysandra for overcoming illness and coming out and serving as Marshal, kitchen help, hall steward and about a thousand other things.
Lord Volgaar for postponing personal commitments so he could serve as a Marshal for the fighting so I could make it to my daughters performance with the Moscow ballet.
Mistress Adendra for standing in for me as Autocrat so I was able to leave site and attend the Moscow ballet performance. And for the multiple other things she did prior to and during the event to help me.
To all of the equestrian folks for "taking the reins" (sorry about the pun) for the days equestrian activities and making them run fabulously. I will make every effort to include equestrian activities in all of my future events.
To Duncan and Bianca for traveling down to support our event and then to spend most of the day in the kitchen helping Lady Tegan because I was busy elsewhere. Without their help either feast would not have gotten done and/or Lady Tegan would have strangled me.
To THL Morwenna for as usual without even having to be asked setting up the Chirurgeon / Waterbearing station by the field and making sure that everyone stays healthy.
Finally, to milord Robert (mka Robert Stanley) who at his "second" SCA event assisted me in setting up the fighting field early in the day and came in the kitchen after feast and "Busted his rear" for hours helping with dish washing, kitchen cleanup and hauling and loading until I finally had to tell him he could go. If I hadn't I have no doubt he would have stayed until we left site. Without his help Lady Tegan and I may very well still be there.
I am certain there are some that I have failed to mention and for this I truly apologize.
My brain was running on overload for most of the weekend.
While these words can in no way fully convey my heartfelt thanks for the selfless acts of these gentles but hopefully at least let them know that they are truly appreciated and I will not forget all the help they afforded me in pulling off the event.
In Service,
Lord Andronikos Psellos
Autocrat - Feast of Saint Andrew
